As far as what latex we used, we used Woodland Latex Rubber.

I do not remember having any breaks in the clay, but it was something we constantly feared as we added more and more clay. They are often on e- bay, and can also be found with a google search. The ear buds stick through holes in the leather that goes around the back, of my head.
Only need one of course which you make one mold of and then produce two latex ears. My advice? The wrap that goes around the back of my head was made from scraps left over from the forehead wrap and the vest.
