Thanks everyone for making this post the top search in google for anyone who wants a guide in loosing those surplus links without the cost. My band has what appears to be a model number stamped into it -- the number appears on two links, one on each half of the band, in the link where the band joins the watch -- number is S-921L.
JM held the band with a second screwdriver.
If the watch is too tight, contact Casio. You'll see a small hole on one side of the band.
